and why do some state have more than one team like california and texas??? thanks!

States are bigger like cal ad tx...........like you would put 3 basketball teams in rhode island

because California has a lot of big cities that can support a team
Hell LA has 2 teams and they can support 2 teams
other states can't support a major team financially because they don't have enough people in their largest city or they can't afford to put out a first class Arena
The NBA is always expanding though so the cities and states that are ready can put in an offer of why ther city would work and the NBA could grant them a team in the future
Also the NBA has Toronto from Canada and used to have the Vancouver Grizzlies but that didn't work so they moved to Memphis

For chances to fill the seats every night in a larger city thats why. Who would come to a basketball game in Wyoming every other night?

Because states like Wyoming don't draw enough fans to fill arenas.
Kansas City is next in line to get a team! :)

High school and college basketball teams do exist in every state, and those teams would love to have more fan support.
