is about a white history month and how come people always thumbs down people who point out that white history is taught plenty. They act like white history is deprived. Im seriously not being racist but you already have plenty of history taught, you don't need your own month. Those who want white history month, can you honestly say you hardly learn white history in your school?

I'm white, but i definitely agree with you.

pretty much all of the history that we are taught has to do with white people. Columbus, the pilgrims, Salem witch trials, the Revolutionary war.

really, the only subjects that are ever told from the black peoples view are slavery and civil rights

after what they went through, i think that people like MLK and Rosa Parks and everyone like them deserve a month where people focus on them and their contributions to the world we live in now. some of the greatest people ever to live were black.

and even though, there are still some black people that play the "race card" more than is necessary. sometimes, it almost seems like they are using it to make people feel bad and get what they want. I'm not saying everybody is like that, but there are a few people that use it to their advantage and i think that is a disgrace to all the people that fought for equality and i think it would make MLK and people that fought with him, a little disappointed.

also, people don't understand what racism is. anything that has to do with race could potentially be turned into a "racial comment" and i hate that.

Wow @ the ignorant "ebonics" question. I didn't know that was the official black language...

Anyway, to the original question, this question usually comes from the uneducated. White history month would really be no different than an average day in history class, which is why there is no white history month. It's not because there's someone out there conspiring against white people, which is what I'm sure plenty of you would like to think.

There is a black history month because black children should be able to know more about other blacks in history besides "well, blacks were slaves". I know, it might not make sense for white children who learn about their history in schools all the time, and I can understand their confusion.

But to ask for a white history month is a bit silly.

Like every 'in thing' and 'trend' that comes and goes in this generation just now, wont be forever. I believe it is the changes in the planetary influences, probably something to do with planet Uranus since he governs free sexuality. Being an outer planet in particular, What he is up to in the current influences affects society. Its like smoking (Neptune) died down and fewer were taking up the habit, now the number of smokers are increasing again. Same with child births they have increased. The outer planets in astrology affect society as a whole but I have not looked into it enough to be more specific. I do hope though the world (or teens) will act more traditional again and try to be more decisive about sexuality. This is an area myself and probably others are not against but have developed little patience for due to hearts at stake - Being very passionate about what I like myself, I've known my sexuality from day one. It appears to have became more common , but had doubts after I read into sexuality - that sexuality has never been all black and white and is more complex than people think. It probably has always been like this only people didn't act on it years ago due to how they would be judged or had to do what was seen as 'right'. Its fair to say some do it as an attention thing or to fit in or look cool, but since I know I'm striaght and have always liked to be individual and follow my own way, I would never make such a false claim. I'd say though, the amount of guys being openly bisexual could be increasing rather than women. Women go through the stage because they are fond of other woman and can admire their beauty, but chances are its just cos they like other women very much and think its a sexual attraction.

I definetely agree with you! whites don't need a month. black history month is supposed to remind us of all the great african americans in history did! you're right, the majority history that's being taught is white people history. but seriously i don't get why all of these questions with all different races are always coming up. it's just the amount of pigment in our skin. that's the only difference. not that big of a deal, am i right?

the caucaian race is the most successful one in the history of mankind. we feel that comparing black "history" to that of our people is like comparing a gold bar to a lump of coal. therefore, we do resent it.
