It depends on the person, I imagine. Some people might become wiser just in understanding that you can't run from your problems. They tend to come with you.
One person I know became wiser by learning that not all people live as comfortably as we (in the US) do. Suddenly, many things she used to worry about became less important.

Well, though we make all preparations, travel does have some element of uncertainty, surprise etc which keeps us more alert. When we are alert, we are better at being wise, and deeper the understanding...
Added to that, we come in 'touch' with more than just our own surroundings, and our being imbibes a little of everything about newer places, so enriches the experience of life. Note that children are more excited about travel, and like to 'miss' nothing ! It is the dull repetitive , meaningless things that puts them to even sleep, and we elders 'proudly' call it our proficiency at a 'lullaby' !

That is true only for some persons. Interaction with formerly
unknown persons increases knowledge of some persons.
That is because they come to know of certain things which
they are unlikely to come across in a single plac of residence..
In India, reading of ancient manuscripts increases understanding
of a person and makes him wise. Of all countries in the world,
India has inherited the largest number of ancient manuscripts
on the widest range of topics known to humans.

I remember this example. this was before television entered into every household. A class of children were taught about seas and oceans about the salinity, waves, plants and animals living in the waters . The teacher forgot to tell about its vastness and the picture he showed to the class was just the size of the page from the book. After a few years one student had a chance to go to a place near the sea shore. He was astonished to see its size. He wrote to his friends that the sea is very much bigger than their village pond and he had not still seen the opposite bank.
It is true travelling makes us wiser.., understand our surroundings. It not only helps us to observe naure but also learn about people and their behaviour. The information we acquire while touring helps us to share our experiences with others

Travelling offers you a chance to be with nature and see the beauty of world. It lets you explore different places like heritages, temples to know about our history. Want to know more about science travel to a planetorium or a science museum.Bored want to go for a match go to a stadium. What more every day we travel to our work,to our school or anywhere else. Whether we like it or not travel is what makes us what we are!.

I do think that travel makes a man more mature and wiser.
When one travels he/she is bound to meet many people ,of different characters and backgrounds .The person comes to know the life in different places,he takes in various cultures, absorbs good things into his curious developing mind.
He gets knowledge ,which he learns from a very good teacher, the nature.he is shown the real truth of life.
he comes to know what is the real world, which is an important lesson to learn.

Experience is the best teacher. Travelling to differrent places gives you chance to meet diferrent people of differrent races. Because of this, you get to experience a lot of things which you will not normally experience if you are confined in one place. You learn a lot of things from the people you meet and this expands your ability to understand; thus, making you wiser.

Diversity is the greatest source of learning and learning makes one feel greatful. When you travel you see different environments, cultures and conditions in which people enjoy or crib. If you look at people richer then you develop a sense of esteem for your life and when you see people lower then you, then also you feel happy na. So in both cases you learn to cherish life. When you cherish your life, wisdom follows...
