I guess you guys accross the pond don't have to deal with mountain lion attacks? I had to draw on a dog that was attacking me. In my state we are more apt to have animal attacks because the bad guys know there's a possibility that there will be thirty different people shooting them before they can fully draw.

The last murder in my town was with a knife. Why are you foreigners so afraid of an inanimate object? A gun by it's nature is less dangerous than a dog. A dog has a mind of it's own and could revert to its nature. A firearm is restrained by the Laws of Physics. It isn't going to fire with out an outside force acting upon it.

I take a good bust up is a fight, why should have to brawl with someone? I'm to old to have to prove myself to some pipsqueek. Oh yeah I've never drawn on a human.

We need guns not to defend ourselves, but to defend our freedom. Guns won us that freedom when a bunch of farmers defeated what was the strongest military until, oh...about 1776, actually we defeated them twice.

Americans are not afraid of confrontation, we are SMART about it. If someone is robbing a bank and you try to fight him, he'll just shoot you and continue robbing the bank. However if an American has a gun to stop him, it will likely turn out the other way. If criminals never used guns, then we could have a "Bust up", but using your fists against someone with a gun is never going to turn out in your favor.

There are so many guns in circulation now in the USA that a common, law abiding citizen often gets a gun to even the odds against the thugs and punks. Of course, a gun is rarely effective in reality and most gun deaths are within families but nevertheless...

I,and many other 'Yanks' despise guns...or rather, what some lunatics DO with guns.
And,it is far too easy to obtain a firearm over here:(
