I want to buy the PS2, but with the new PS3 coming out, I am sure the prices of the PS2 are going to drop.

How long does it normally take for the price to drop on "last year's model" of gaming machine?

And if prices aren't expecting to drop for a long while, where's a good place in Canada to get one for cheap right now?

The PS2 is currently one of the top selling consoles (despite the fuss over next generation systems). It's already at a pretty low price point, but expect another small one around the September timeframe, just before Christmas.

a ps2 is only $129.99 at eb games plus the games aren't that expensive it take about six months for a price drop in systems if your you are willing to buy a used ps2 you can get one at a pawn shop for under $90 and it should have controllers with it the ps3 will probally drop price within 2-3 months to be more competitive with microsoft the 60bg version should drop around $100-$210 and the 20gb version should drop to about $270

I think you can usually get them new for like $129, and sometimes you get them with games. I would look at Future Shop and Best Buy, and maybe even EB Games. Playstation might try to get rid of them since they want to push their new system, so I wouldn't wait too much longer. I don't think they'll get much cheaper before they get phased out completely.

wait til the end of the year. you will most likely see it drop to about $100. I am eagerly awaiting the ps2 "pink."
