There are 30 teams in the NBa. There are two conferences with 15 teams in each conference (western and eastern conferences). In each conference 8 teams make the playoffs. Also in each conference there are 3 divisions with 5 teams in each division. I will not recite all the Nba teams right now but if you go onto nba.com and click on stanfings you will get all the divisions and which team is in which division. The divisons are also grouped by geographical location.

32 I believe. Did you go to NBA.com and count the number of teams in the standings? It probably would have been quicker than posting a question and waiting for a response.
Added: Ok, maybe I'm confusing the NBA with the NFL.
