Get a basic pair of black jeans and two pairs of denim.
You may have to look long and hard for exactly the right
fit but it's worth it. Also, one pair of dressier black pants.
To go over these get a classic black jacket and one
sporty one and some long spaghetti strap tanks in a lot
of your favorite colors and black. Two black belts, one
dressy and one sporty and another that can go with
both pairs of jeans. One basic black dress that's a
length that flatters your legs, preferably in a no wrinkle
fabric, a pretty shawl to go over it or tie around your
hip Bohemian style. You can wait until next fall to
add a good warm coat or jacket and save for it throughout
the year. A couple of fun sweaters...you can pick up
the colors in them with your tanks. Two pairs of boots,
one for outdoor activities and one for work or dressy
occasions and a couple of pairs of flats. Two pairs
of summer sandles...flipflops and better leather kind.
One pair of black heels. Have fun with earrings, bracelets
and necklaces...these will add all the interest to your new
wardrobe. Pearl, crystal, rhinestone and shell...just what
you like. Keep it simple and classic but look for the edge
in the design. It doesn't have to be conservative. The
place to start looking is in secondhand shops...they have
great things but it takes multiple visits to get what you
really want. Target and Wallmart have the tanks, Marshalls
and Ross have off-price designer clothes. I wouldn't skimp
too much on the shoes however. Start with jeans, one
jacket, a few tanks and a pair of boots and fun earrings and
build from there.

hello billie...i am a fashion designer(do not ask me the company i work for, please) and i can tell you most of times i have the same problem .. or i start working and make my own clothes....this should be easy for you...i bet you have magazines around you and you do own a scissors.....see what you like in the magazines and cut them out (pictures) next step...hit the stores and try to find similar items and put them on...take a friend(one that is not a brown noser)...see if you like them and if they look good an you....that is actually the best part....not the buying part....there are a lot of stores that have good clothes and at pretty decent prices...you do need to go inside and check them out .....have fun.

Well. If I were you i would take my happy little butt into American Eagle and buy new cute jeans, a few cute tops, sweatshirts. ITs not really cheap but do a little at a time. $30-50 for jeans... around $20 for most shirts. and most things are soo cute! my favorite store. I am actually dressed head to toe in American Eagle clothes!

well, idk how to explain EVERYTHING so i suggest you go to old navy, gap or jcpennys(they have pretty cheap clothes except gap, gap is average) and look at their manequins(i always like to see what they put together) and ask one of the store workers what they think would look nice on you. i asked one of the workers what i should wear for my picture day and they gave me great advice! the top that they suggested looked great on me and i got a lot of compliments=) and also watch what not to wear on tlc alot to get tips and they might have someone on the show who has the same body shape as you. its on fridays at 9 and 10 pm.
