i heard june. exclusive only to cingular(woo-hoo that's my company!) and 499$ for a 4 gig and 599$ for an 8 gig. and will be launched in europe later this year and asia in 2008.
and that whole paying 300$ for a phone, it's more than that. it is actually much cheaper than the phone i have (nokia 9300) which cost 550$ and is basically the same thing with less space to hold music. so i think it's worth it and i plan on getting one.

It is due to be released in June '07, but don't buy it. It is too costly, buy an ipod and keep your old phone. It is not worth it, a 4gb ipod is $200 and the 4gb iphone is $500. that means you are paying $300 for a phone.
What happens if it breaks, gets lost or stolen? You are out an ipod and a phone.
