Ok.. well my school is having a semi-formal in June and only 8th graders are allowed to go. I don't wanna get too dressed up but I don't wanna look like i just picked out some random dress and ran out wth door. Any suggestions on what I should wear? I'm 13 and there's a dress code. Thanks <3

Search cocktail dresses. Black is obviously the easiest thing to do...but you're young so wear a bright color. I would wear a solid color dress and curl my hair and leave it down. A nice necklace and some cute shoes should do the trick. If you feel too dressy, throw a cute sweater over your dress and you should be good to go. All girls will wear a variety of things, go in feeling confident and the rest will take care of itself. Have fun!

Actually, despite a previous answer, I would wear a print dress- they look younger and less dressed-up than a solid. Besides, it's really easy to find print dresses in the summer. To be in-between (and definitely fit into the dress code) you might could try a small-print kimono dress in a satin, like this one.
