Kosovo is short for Kosovo Polje, meaning The field of Robin (robin-the bird). It`s Serbian toponim (name), means nothing in Albanian. The province`s name has a second part-Metohija, meaning "the land owned by Church" (old Greek word).
As for natural treasure, there are many silver&uranium mines. But the real treasure that is in danger there is the cultural heretage of Serbian Orthodox Church, for all medieval churches&monastries, with excelent pictouresce work, are phisicaly assaulted by Albanians.
As for the "problem of Kosovo" it is very old. After World War II, Serb refugees were forbidden,by the komunist leaders to go back to their homes in Kosovo. And after Nato air-strikes in 1999., border with Albania was freely open, so many of Albanian citizens crossed it. It is impossible to determin how many of them, for Kosovo Albanians ignored all the state procedures in Yugoslavia, like registrating the birth of a child.... So, I don`t think that that problem will be solved easily.
As for American interests on the other half of the planet, and the way they are solving their issues, I have no comment..

what does Kosovo potential? or Germany? or in spite of u . s . you elect? it rather is merely a popularity for that section. Kosovo is customer-friendly merely as Kosovo although the authentic call is Kosovo i Metohija.
