I was just gutted. I mean I didn't know her personally or anything but she was a beautiful woman, seemed to have it all, then she lost her son. That was devastating and heartbreaking. Now her own life and a baby girl left with no mother. It's very sad and my heart goes out to the little infant baby.

It's kind of sad- I know people liked to make fun of her, but the truth of the matter is- she just lost her son- right after giving birth to her daughter- she was facing a custody battle for the daughter, an inquest into her son's death and still going through appeals and crap for the money she was awarded from her dead husband's estate. True she probably married the old bastard for his money but damnit, if I had to have sex with an old *** man I'd want all the money I could get too. She had so much going on she probably just couldn't take it anymore. Regardless of how people felt about her as an actress or whatever the hell she was considered- a model- ex model- she was still a person and it's sad when someone so young dies- and she now has a 5 month old baby who will never have a mother.

I was quite shocked! When she became a mother I thought everything would be alot better for her life, but then her son died. I think the stress must have been too much. Even if it was drugs that killed her (although I don't condone drugs in anyway) I feel sympathy for her, I don't know how I'd handle losing my son. But her death is a total shock, postnatal depression must have got to her too along with the paternity suit, I doubt she felt like the proudest mother on earth with everything going wrong.
As a mother to mother, her baby has all my condolenses.

We seem to spend an inordinate amount of time reading about people who frankly have never done anything to warrent our attention.

It is sad when someone dies young, it always is, but I would prefer to read about the life of someone who lost it defending our country, they deserve more of a tribute than Ms. Smith.

So, aside from using her looks well, and marrying an 80 year old rich man, exactly what has she done that deserves her name being spread across the news services 10 minutes after her death?

I guess it is something I will never understand.

Initially a little taken aback, but life goes on and I didn't know her personally.

She was a good looking girl who had the luck to meet an old billionaire, she seemed a nice enough person but a bit screwy and ditzy. Probably had more money than she could handle after marrying Howard J. Marshall (hell he could've sh***ed me for a billion dollars!).

Nice girl, a bit thick, sorry she died, shame about her family but no I'm not personally affected.

My first reaction was, "Who???". Then I read how young she was and was a bit upset at the fact that she's leaving a youngster.

I don't know when, but there will definitely be a custody battle. Shame to drag the young one through it.

Doesnt affect me in the slightest. I never knew her, as far as I know she was famous for nothing remarkable - she wasnt a noble prize winner, or a remarkable singer or actress, or a humanitarian, all I know of her is that she married an old rich man and he died and she got his money.

Its a young age to die, and leaving a young baby is sad, but no, callous as it may be, I dont really care.

George Bush made a statement this morning, urging the allied nations to join him in the fight against Sweden, now member of the axis of evil, as new intelligence revealed it was harbouring millions of terrorists armed with massive, perfectly formed breast.
God bless America!

Shocked and saddened; even though she's brought a lot of her turmoil on herself it's still a sad end to a life that had lots of potential.
