The Sims 2 help . Do i have to download the sims to play?

I want to get the sims 2 for pc but i do not have the sims and i was wondering if i had to download it because i dont want the sims just the sims 2 thank you for your awnsers

no you don't need the sims 1 to have sims 2 to work.there 2 seperate games,and way different too,the sims 2 have way better graphics and more options and cheats.
and its a way better game too,you can download clothes,and idems for your sims and if you buy expansion packs for sims 2 you can have sims go to school,own buisinesses,go to clubs,etc.
and heres a list of the expansion packs if you want to get one of them:
the sims 2:nightlife
the sims 2:univeresity
the sims 2:open for business
the sims 2:family fun stuff
the sims 2:glamour life
the sims 2:pets
the sims 2:seasons

trust me,don't waste your money on the sims 1 if you can buy the sims 2

the sims and the simes 2 are 2 totally different games.

the sims is the first versions that came out.

the sims 2 is the second version

you do not need the sims to play the sims 2
