I am 2 1/2 weeks late, but pregnancy tests have come up negative. How long would you wait before seeing your MD? (There is only a very small chance that I would be pregnant anyway since we have been using protection.)

I would wait for another or two cycle to pass. I experienced the same thing. I was late for about 3 weeks and went for blood test and it was negative. Then i got imy period a week after the blood test which was strange because I was always regular and never late. Some said that it could happen because of stress. Or you could just skipped a cycle which apparently was normal. If you want to be sure, get blood test.

If you go to a dr they will just have you do a pee test anyhow. Just wait it out a little longer. It takes time for the hormones of PG to be strong enough to show up in urine. I *knew* I was PG after about 2 weeks of conception, but the tests didn't show positive until a few weeks later. I knew the begining of November, but my dr didn't even want to see me until about 4 weeks later. You can try going to a planned parenthood center, too. Try the dollar store to see about getting some cheap PG tests - they are all the same, some just packaged fancier than others. That way you can spend $10 for ten tests instead of $10 for two tests. Until you get your AF, keep testing if it makes you feel better. Most of all try not to stress over it - that will delay your AF in itself. Good luck!

I'm in the same boat...I was 22 days overdue and urine tests were negative. I made a Dr appointment to go for blood work. The blood work came up negative. I'm going to wait till my Feb period to see if it gets here...if not we'll have to see what is going on.

If you're 2 1/2 weeks late, I would at least call your dr. and see what he says.

go to a clinic and have a blood test done or if you just started to use birth control pills that might be an effect on your period

the Dr. usually won't see you until you are 10 weeks pregnant or so.
If your test came up neg. take another and if you have the same results then maybe you are just skipping a period. You can go to planned parenthood and take a test too.

other things besides pregnancy can cause irregular periods so you do need to see your doc if you were having regular cycles then they started getting weird. It can be a sign of poly cystic ovaries/hormone unbalance/ Cancer other things/

I would schedule an appointment as soon as you can. You can find out whether or not you are pregnant and if you aren't, you can find out why your period is so late.
