Love is a thing you can not explain...
It tickle's the Heart and Puzzles the Brain
And when you get that funny feeling...
You bash your head right through the ceiling....
Love is never to say you sorry....

I can't say that I'm big on the Bible, but there is one passage in I think- 1st Corinthians, that states, what I feel to be a perfect definition of love, regardless of your religious or spiritual beliefs.
Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, (love) is not pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury, it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth.
It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.

Love is the action of caring for another. Love in truth is solid and evident. Love is willing to sacrifice for another without expecting gain.

I love you not only for what you are,
but for what I am when I am with you.
I love you not only for what you have made of yourself,
but what you are making of me.
I love you because you have done more than any creed
could have done to make me good,
and more than any fate could have done to make me happy.
You have done it without a touch,
without a word,
without a sign.
You have done it by being yourself.
Perhaps that is what being a friend means, after all.

It creates ABSENCE of judgment and absence of fears...State in which we may exist very short period of time, blissful state. Glory. When we come back to our fears and judgments, love fades away, placing experiencers into their usual mental state , leaving them a choice, to find way back to Bliss, or judge and carry fears. That last factors makes relationship short lived or long suffered...
