Grow up and get a thorough education before using the word pompous.

Actually no, because of one simple fact:

"The Octagon" was a movie starring Chuck Norris, and ever since it was released, octagons everywhere have had this chip on their shoulder, like they could roundhouse kick things into oblivion, just like Chuck Norris. Add to that the whole stop sign thing, and most octagons go around thinking they are God's gift to geometry, whereas the hexagon is sorely underrperesented in pop culture, having been skunked on the whole Defense Department office building thing (stupid pentagons anyway!) and really only being famous for the quiet role they play within a beehive as the geometric form most favored by those industrious insects. C'mon, give the hexes some love, why don't you?

No, I think the other way around. I think hexagons are jealous of the attention that octagons receive - them being the universal shape for a stop sign and all.

Agreed. The lowly octagon merely waits for it's recognition while the prideful hexagon struts it stuff like it's gonna be paid for it!

Yes, their shoulders are kind of hunched up in an unattractive way. Never liked the little b*stards. Give me a dodecahedron any day.
