In the book "Lullaby" by Chuck Palahniuk there is a theory that God created humans and put them on Earth so he could come back later and consume, or eat, us. I'm wondering if this a an actual religion and if there are any people who practice it.

Though I have never heard of such a religion, I do know that there are very many religions. Violence is not uncommon in religion. If not now, I do not doubt that in some point in history such a belief existed. Ancient people in the area near Iraq, called Babylon, practiced cannibalism and killing/sacrificing babies. It is not a great leap for them to have believed that their children were consumed by the god/gods they worshiped.

with six billion people on this Earth, theres probably somebody somewhere who believes any statement that can be made.

But Palahniuk is an allegorical writer, he uses metaphor a lot. He probably just made it up, to represent something he sees in the modern world.

Surely another quack. Where is his tent? No sane person would follow him. There are many examples of this rare cults or religions that have ended with very undesirable situations. What are they producing to make this a better society? The only outcome of this movement can be more confusion.

uh... none that I know of. Nope. And if anyone does believe this, they are extremely small in number.

Though I'm sure someone will answer that they believe this. The people here love giving bad answers.

My definition a religion is believing in something one cannot prove.. so yeah if you believe it sure...

Is it an organized religion? no, sounds like fiction by the author...

it is possible it is a real religion. i wouldn't think anyone would believe in a religion made up by a fiction author, but look at Tom cruise and scientology.....lol

Are you asking if there is a religion that believes this?
I am sure there is someone out there who believes it, I don't.
