Do we value celebrities too much? I'm sympathetic to Smith's family, but there is no widespread news coverage about other peoples deaths, no matter how tragic. Soldiers are dying everyday in all kinds of terrible accidents, people in underdeveloped nations are dying because they don't have enough water/food/medication to live, and here I'm sitting, hearing of this one death, for how many minutes? Are we that engrossed in the lives of celebrities? How can we focus that attention to the world's biggest problems right now, say, aids?

We should mourn the death of Anna Nicole Smith because she was a human being. But we should also mourn the deaths of the American soldiers who die in Iraq every day. Yes, we value celebrities too much which makes us pretty superficial as people.

I feel sorry for her because she lost her son recently and she didn't seem happy any more. I never followed her career, but I always feel sad when someone dies and showed no signs of knowing the Lord. I'm not judging her, I hope she knew Jesus as her savior, I just think if she had turned to Him, it would have been all over the news.

Anna was bigger than life. You could always see how much she loved Daniel. Her little daughter will never know her.She will have only pictures and what other people tell her.Yes, we should mourn her.She was who she was and didn't front. Her mother needs to shut her mouth. If Anna's childhood had been stable and consistent, she wouldn't have been so needy.I loved her.

You don't have to mourn her just give the respect every human being deserves & don't talk bad about her. It's a tragedy when anyone dies . After all, everyone means something to someone .

why should she be mourned over another who was not known to the world. she did absolutely nothing positive with her life.

our society puts celebrities and pro athletes up on a pedestal as if somehow they are better than the rest of us. they are no better they just have different jobs and make a lot more money.

don't mourn for her save it for someone who actually deserves it...

This is really fishy and a murder mystery. I predict they find her companion either guilty or dead himself.
