You need to change your Background Image twice, and both times have to be "custom" images.

So hit the browse button, find a new image, hit okay and apply that image. Then do it again.

Then you close the properties box, and open it again. (It may also require you to re-boot your comptuer to clear the memory)

If you can not get the background to change, then simply delete the file. It will have the same name as in the background list. Once the file is deleted your computer can no longer display it.

start control panel display desktop and change background.

Restart your computer in Safe mode. You will be able to remove it easily.
