What are the sellers ratings like so far? If the seller has bad ratings - buyer beware.

NO. Everything I buy off ebay doesn't work. Something is always wrong with the item. The exceptions are where the price matches the item. If it is too good to be true.... I buy knowing I will need to fix what I buy from ebay.
I wouldn't trust a laptop to work for $35. Buy it with the understanding you will have to fix it. Fixing laptops cost money and lots of time.

Are you bidding on it ? Sometime the bid starts out low but after a few days of bidding the price gets real high . Another thing is you have to watch what they say this may be info on where to get laptops whole sale so look close and read carefully .
I myself perches allot of things on eBay and so far so good .
Take a look at there Feed back if they have a good feed back from other costumers then i would go for it but don't be surprised if the bid goes allot higher because most people bid within the last minutes of the auction

I personally dont trust Ebay at all.
Check the seller's feedback. If a LOT of people have rated it and it is perfect, then go for it.
$35 seems really low for a laptop, but people who try to steal from you dont normally risk prison for $35

If the discription doesnt match the product when you get it, return it and get a refund. If they return it back with no refund, go to Ebay and file a complaint. If you use paypal, they will refurbish the money. Ebay has a terms of policy that sellers and buyers have to follow and if its not fufilled by the seller or buyer, legal action may be done.

I worry about the person selling the $1500 laptop not the $35 laptop.
If it doesn't work donate it to charity and take $200 income tax deduction.

You can try, but I think that the laptop WON'T WORK. Why would anyone want to get rid of a laptop for $35? Try Amazon.

there is no such thing as a free lunch.
and the chances of getting a working laptop for $35 are slim and none!
however if you insist on going through with this, only pay through PAYPAL with a CREDIT CARD!
this will protect you much more than anything else.
but franky, i wouldn't touch any computer on ebay
too many scams. it is a high fraud area .

Check his ratings. Anything less than 100% positive, read the ratings. 98% for someone who has 1000 ratings is okay; there are enough complainers in the world to make a Saint look bad. 98% or less with someone with 100 rating or less, be suspect. 98% or less for someone with 50 or less, stay away from them. Also, check to see if the ratings are from buyers or people he has bought stuff from. The ratings shall tell you all!

no! laptops cost at least $500! if they're selling one for only $35, something's terribly wrong. don't want to be mean, but you have to use your common sense sometimes. it's just like those weirdos who "sell" ipods on ebay for only 1 cent.
