They do. But they shouldn't. Many, many statistics show that even if a relationship develops and lasts 10 years+, when the girl made the first "move" (sexual or not), the relationship will fail. If you can't be the male and make the first move (ask her out), then you are looking for a "mother", not a companion.

Self-confident girls do problem is most girls don't have the guts they want someone to wave a magic wand and give them what they want. There is nothing wrong with asking a guy out. God knows I rather ask a guy I really want out then have the headache of waiting for him to ask me.

Plenty of girls ask guys out. Sometimes he initiates, sometimes she does. Happens all the time as you get more mature and self-confident.
It's just more traditional for the guy to do the official asking, because some men tend to prefer pursuing women, being in charge, declaring his interest in her, etc.

it all varies with the type of girl they are! some are waaay too shy and are afraid of being rejected...and other girl are daring and dont feel that fear of being rejected....i just recently kinda asked a boy out and i was hella nervous but i managed to still ask. sometimes a girl just really needs to want something in order to do it without being held back by her fears or feelings :)

believe it or not it's because we're just as nervous about being shot down as you guys are. Plus it's the whole sterotype that guys have to be the one to do the "asking out." I've asked every guy out that i've every been with, except one. That one who asked me out is still the one i'm with today, and so far has been my longest relationship. Is it a conspiracy? I don't know, but it sure has me thinking, lol!

girls get very emotional and take a harder sense of rejection. Some girls ask guys out but others are too scared of being rejected.

Its just because, we feel like were bieng Desperate, and maybe a little clingy and insecure. Many things have changes for the 21st century, women ARE in more control, but in the end, us women? We ALWAYS love to be swept of our feet, and old fasioned chivalry never fails.
