I have two things that I really can't stop thinking about these days. It's funny, I've lost so many best friends but I've forgiven them so easily. Forgiving yourself, I've found, is the hardest.

I was best friends with my grandmother-she was like a second mother to me and lived with us until I was about 11. She had open heart surgery and was in the hospital for weeks, even over my 11th birthday. I was being incredibly selfish and only visited her twice. Weeks later she ended up dying and I almost blamed it all on myself, ie. If I had visited more maybe she would have held on longer. I was just kidding myself, but it still is hard to leave that part of my past alone. And now I have a huge fear of hospitals and visiting people, I start shaking and it's horrible.

Another thing is this guy who I let wear me down the first year of junior high. I was fragile after the whole thing with my grandma dying and I had liked him for years but he never really thought of me that way. I watched as he dated girl after girl and then one day he decided that he needed to drop me and some other friends to become popular. Just like that, I learned I "needed contacts to get a boyfriend" and that my "body's great but my face needs serious work". I can't look him in the eye without getting angry, even 3 years later. It's amazing how much little comments can hurt someone.

When my brother (ten years older than me) would molest and torture me. And also that time he nearly killed me by smothering me with a pillow. I am all jacked up now. I am suicidal and I hate life. I think that when he almost killed me I suffered a lack of oxygen to my brain and that is why I am all damaged now. I'm so sad and angry. I want these bad memories to go away but they don't, they haunt me all the time and I am forever cursed by what my brother did to me. The world is a lame place. How could these things be allowed to happen to an innocent child? Proves to me that there is no god.

Our Chief of Police crying because somebody called him on his unfair promotion practices and he started with the tears... What a psycho! At least if you are going to be crooked, be a man when you get caught at it.
