The big browser war is now a daily part of the computer world. This question does assume that you have the latest version of whatever browser(s) you are working with. The big three are IE, Firefox, and Opera.

I use IE 7 almost all of the time because I am used to IE and its integration with Windows. Some sites are so dependant on IE that unfortunately they don't work with other browsers. Advatages that IE 7 has incorperated are:

Shrink to fit printing, (long overdue.) the phising filter, better security, and tabbed browsing. I also like the rich-text format option and improved character resolution of IE7.

I also use Opera from time to time for its unquie customizable interface design. It also has an excellent phising filter and incoprperates tabbed browsing effectively.

I would like to see Opera and IE adopt a right-click prompt or a plug-in like in Firefox that would disallow the loading of ebedded banner adds in web pages.

First of all IE is not free, because it can't be installed separetly! It comes only with windows, which it's not free!
The only reason I use IE is that some pages still work only on IE, so like it or not you must use it in this case. You just can't simply uninstal it, and that's another annoying issue... If I don't want IE why should it be installed by default?
I don't want to comment now on how much secure is IE7, but I highly doubt it it will compare with other browsers security... Anyway tests will show the difference, and maybe anyone's opinion when comparing them...
Opera is a great browser and the only reason I consider it superior is that it's the only one that integrates a torrent client! In fact it was the first browser that introduced many new things, like tabbed windows, filtering tehniques and so on...
When it comes to customising the browser the way you like it, Firefox is by far the best browser ever.

The only thing I want for a browser is to respect the standards! Unfortunately very few do...
