You should definitely date another earth sign, and I believe it would best be capricorn. Your sun and moon would get along great with their sun. Good Sun and Moon combinations are known to be very beneficial for relationships.
Rising signs are also important. With yours in gemini, I think you should avoid a virgo sun because it is not aspected well to gemini. Capricorn doesn't have that problem. Try a capricorn.

all points in astrology are almost as equally important in compatibility then the rest. i have found that there can be some incredible aspects that can forge great relationships but not always is that exact aspect going to lead to compatibility.
since your Rising sign is in Gemini most astrologers will automatically associate your 7th house (Descendant) of Relationships and Partnership is in Sagittarius, but it can also spread over a good part of Capricorn as well depending on where exactly your descendant lands.
Moon signs rules over your emotions and of course its important to a relationship compatibility. I've found some of the best aspects with the moon is Sun conjunct Moon and Moon sextile/trine Mercury.

They 'effect' compatibility, but they don't have to be compatible to one another per se.
The moon represents one's emotional self. Yours is in Capricorn, and with a Gemini rising, I would say it is in the 7th house. At the very most, in the 8th house.
Your sun is probably in the 12th, and having those two placements in the houses myself, I can only tell you it makes for a hopeless romantic who can get quite depressed if given the right fuel for it.
Capricorn moon makes a choice and stands by it. A 7th house moon needs a partner to feel emotionally fulfilled, so desperately, it'll even idolise possible partners and make you see something that isn't there. And then you fall in love. You might have to think before you get into relationships, and think hard. Because your Capricorn moon won't let you change your mind, and you might end up suffering to hold on to a relationship when it's no use. (that would be the 12th house sun influence)
You would be compatible to just about anyone out there, in your own mind. That is true in everyone's case, as well as yours, but it takes a person who actually falls in love with you to make you happy. And then you would have to look to that person's Venus and Mars sign, and houses those planets are in as well, possibly.

Moons in compatible elements are emotionally compatible. You might find yourself attracted/compatible with people with a Taurus or Capricorn Moon.
The rising sign is very important to synastry - you tend to attract people whose Sun, Moon or Asc is the opposite to your Asc, so look out for Sagittarian types. If you have a planet in the 7th house, this can also describe your potential partner. For example, I have Jupiter in my 7th, so I tend to get along with Sagittarians, intellectuals, athletes, animal-lovers and religious people - also those who are larger-than-life and go "overboard" in some way.

a suitable synastry between 2 human beings is carried out via a evaluation of their individual natal chats. Even then, given the enormous form of reasons some relationships artwork and others do no longer, an astrologer could call it incorrect. solar and Moon indications, inspite of Mars and Venus, are no longer any handbook to compatibility.
