I think the place should have more of a casual or fun ambiance because usually people are a bit shy or reserved on the first date because they want to make a good impression. It's also kind of hard to talk with a mouth full of food! For me, when I was dating in the Ice Age, going to get something to eat on a first date was scary because I was concerned about food sticking in my teeth, or dropping something back onto the plate, or worse yet, snorting soda out of my nose!! :) If a person is the right one for you, your first date is going to be memorable no matter where it is.

I would find out what type of food your date likes and go from that. There are plenty of places to eat at but give them the chance to pick!

Women or Girls always seem to remember the first place you took them. I would go one of two ways, and it really just depends on you. Either go somewhere inexpensive but fun, or go with a nice mid-priced restaurant. I wouldn't go anywhere too fancy or expensive, because depending on the girl you may be setting her expectations too high for the future. But make it nice nonetheless. On the fun side, if you don't want to drop $50-100, try someplace cheap near a fun outing you do afterword. Don't go to a movie, this is what I always used to do...but it isn't the best way to make a good impression. You need to go somewhere the two of you can talk and get to know each other.
