When I was pregnant I slept alot. It was as though the baby drained the life out of me. I could sleep 12 - 16hrs every day. I would have to force myself to get out of bed. So I think its ok. My babies were all healthy babies.

WOW 16 hours...I haven't slept that much since before I had kids. I am due on Monday and I am thankful if I can sleep for 5 hours. I think that it is normal and that your body had the chance to rest up so it did. I on the other hand have a 9 year old and a 2 year old that get up quite early so I usually only get 5 hours because it takes me for ever to fall asleep.

Of course you're tired, It's like carrying around a 30 pound bag of potatoes all day.
Pregnant women need their rest, besides you at 39 weeks you're in the home stretch.
You should get all the rest while you can. Once the baby comes, its 4 o'clock feedings etc..
Good luck and enjoy the peace while you can

I remember when my girlfriend was pregnant with our son, she would sleep for like 18 - 20 hours a day. And when she woke up she would still feel very tired and very very cranky. But once you have your baby, you'll get back on your nomal sleep schedule. But from 39 weeks...the hell only starts there.
Good luck and congratulations!

I was that tired at about 30 weeks pregnant. I talked to my doc about it and he did a blood count, turned out I had low blood iron. I went on an iron supplement and it made a world of difference in my fatigue.

your body knows what it needs, baby must be gearing up to make his/her arrival ! yay! i agree with the other mamas , get as much rest as you can now, your body is going through a lot and preparing to go through a lot more , as long as you are making sure to get enough fluids, nutritious foods and vitamins i dont think there is any reason why you shouldnt rest as much as possible, its hard enough to find a comfortable position when you are that far along!
Congratulations

Yes, your body knows it has a long journey ahead. Get all the sleep you can now while you can because after you have the baby you won't be able to sleep much for a good while.
