Negative.
Castor oil is made from the Castor bean--a vegetable--but it's not for cooking. Used internally, it's a laxative.
It's is also excellent for use on the skin.
Don't let that other poster scare you. Castor oil purchased in the store is perfectly safe. I've haven't died yettttttttt.......

Two of them belong to the fat group - subcategory: Triglyceride vegetable fats
Triglyceride vegetable fats and oils include not only edible, but also inedible vegetable fats and oils such as linseed oil, tung oil, and castor oil.
They have different functions and applications.

castor oil is made from beans, so it is a vegetable oil.
if it is 'like' a vegetable oil is hard to say, since a lot of vegetable oils arent like eachother.
peanut oil heats up FAR hotter than Olive oil, and oliveoil is much more nutricious than peanut oil.

Castor oil is a veg.oil. But is not considered edible. It is a very powerful laxative and toxic in large doses. You need to check with the seller if it is edible, and free of rysin ; one of the worlds most deadly poisons. If not certified don't eat it , rub it on your skin or use it for sexual purposes.
Dead is for a long time.. Not worth playing with!!!!!!!!
