No, National Geographic Magazine says that in the Middle eastern religions there is so many groups of different sects of Muslim that it is difficult to find a religious identity.
You can have in Iraq, Sunni, Shiite, Druze, Kurds, and other splinter groups of Muslims, that cannot Identify with other groups.
Such as we might all disagree with different Christians but we are universal in saying we are all Christians.
They first are Sunni Muslim. Not agreeing with the other groups.
There identity as to nationality is blurred by their religion which comes first before their political or national identity.
Which enables them to bomb each other without feeling guilt as to these are members of my nation. Not being members of my religion makes them the enemy. So therefore I can kill them.
