there is no one solution to make peace happen. You can't force 1000 years of evolution in a society overnight. It will take time for progress to take hold on them. The sad thing is that 1000 years ago they were the most advanced civilization in the world, then the crusades happened and they consumed themselves with this ridiculous idea of warfare.

We've learned to ignore our religious leaders in this country. Over there, the religious leaders are the law. As long as people are slaves to "the will of god" they will not advance.

I don't believe anyone but the inhabitants of the Middle East can bring peace to their region.
The Middle East's citizens and their warped views on religion have created the h*ll they call civilization.
Human life is not valued the way it is in Western culture and their religion teaches them to hate rather than love. It teaches them that murder is okay. The traditions of the Arabic society teach them to mistreat their women and that death is better than dishonor.
The only crisis there is in the Middle East is that there are not enough educated people over there to teach the warring freaks.
As much as I'd like to see peace in the Middle East and see everyone get along over there. It is not going to happen, until the Muslims have some kind of epiphany and discover that life is worth living and blood shed is blood wasted.

There obviously are reasons we have not been made aware of for our involvement in Iraq. With the general public in both the USA and the UK so opposed to the war, the governments of both keep on pursuing the unpopular policy of the war.
There is surely something at stake of which we know nothing about. Without knowing what that might be, I can not offer any solution to the problem in Iraq.

leave. they have been killing one another for centuries and will continue to do so whether we are there or not. there are those that say they will come here but if we establish peace there there's another issue to consider. the middle east has little in the way of natural resources, oil mainly. but the oil supply is destined to run out in about 35 years or less. then what? you have a large population and dwindling supplies, and it will be our fault for there being no check on their population. It may be cold but that's the way they contain their population.

I'm starting to think that Iraq needs to be partitioned.
Kurds, Shiites and Sunni regions.

No opinions about the rest of the area.

The best thing we could do is stop stooping to the same level as the terrorists. Violence begets violence, hate causes hate. We need to remember one minuscule percentage doesn't condemn an entire culture.

I wouldn't. I'm sick to death of hearing about it. How can a "crisis" last for forty years???

Let them go to war and may the best country win. The world will survive. Life will go on.
