Actually, most everyone has it wrong, we wouldn't starve or resort to cannibalism or save money on dog food, because humans are, after all, animals. There would, however be decomposition, because fungi play that role to some degree, and I'm sure that evolution would take care of that. A good deal of plants are pollinated by wind just as much as by animals, and some plants even self-pollinate, and there's others that can form offshoots of themselves through roots, so reproduction wouldn't be a problem either. I suspect that if there were no animals, the world would be one big old-growth forest.

Everything would die. Animals pollinate, fertilize, and change the environment they live in. without animals, plants would not be fertilized, would not break down for fertilizer, and would end up dying as well.

we would have to be vegetarians then for sure,and I would miss them and not for not having meat to eat , because the world would be lonely with out them , especially miss my dogs and cats.
