Sorry about the broken link, I had it handwritten so the only cutting and pasting I could do was with scizzors and glue.
For those of you that continue to cite the UN Commision report read it first. All that was agreed upon was the wording, there is no actual new science involved. There are well respected scientists that were on that commision that disagreed with the findings, however they are not given any coverage. Just because they came to a consensus does not make their findings facts.
Read about the Eugenics Movement and how the movement was also based on scientific consensus and supported by the top thinkers of the time. This led to the forced sterilization of women for almost 50 years because it was thought that they came from inferior gene pools. Of course it was aimed mostly at immigrants and Jews. Consensus does not equal facts. I dont dispute there a Climate Change Issue. I just want there to be proof of what is causing it before you start taking $ from me to fix it.

That is simply a critique of Al Gores movie. It does not dispute global warming.
There is a vast, worldwide, scientific concensus that agrees. Global warming is real. It's occuring now, and Man is having an increasing effect on the natural warming processes that have occured over time. This is not something you can debate. The people who actually study this phenomonon have determined with more than 90% certainty that man plays a role in global warming. Are we the only cause? no. The earth does have natural warming and cooling trends.. but we are part of the cause now. If you disagree with this, you are simply choosing to be ignorant of the facts. People want to "draw thier own conclusions". What sense does that make? What makes you or I qualified to draw any conclusions? What research have you or I done on this subject? none. These scientists are the experts. There are thousands of them around the world that have done years of research and they all agree. It is foolish and arrogant to think that we know more than they do.

No link here.
Add an f to the end of the pd and it works though. So Competetive Enterprise Institute, a group funded by Texaco, Amoco, Ford, General Motors, the American Petroleum Institute, the American Plastics Council, Arch Coal, Exxon Mobil, Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, Philip Morris, Coca-Cola, Pfizer, etc., is questioning Al Gore's impartiality? Thanks for the trash.
The CEI also calls smoking a civic duty, and says heavier cars should be exempt from mileage and emissions standards because they're "safer"... for their occupants, but make the roads more dangerous.
And by the way you can say whatever you want about Al Gore. He is not the king of global warming, it exists regardless of what he says, and I have not seen his film.
CEI's president earns $175,000 a year and probably much more in stocks. I wish I could earn a living like that, but I'm not willing to lie and destroy the world in order to do it.

Your link is broken
With that said, global warming is the temperature of the world, not of your local area. Yes it's winter. We get that. Global warming is a natural trend that would have happened anyway but much more gradually giving people and animals time to adapt.
Humans accelerated global warming with the same pollutants negatively affecting our health in other ways.
Many glaciers have melted in my life time, and many are still melting, in addition to the poles. This is raising sea levels, changing coasts and flooding both coasts and islands. Regardless of who's to blame, it's a fact and needs to be dealt with. We can reduce pollution caused illness by cutting back on the things that accelerated global warming. This will not stop global warming but could improve our health.
The number one thing we can now do about global warming is evacuate low lying islands and coastal areas.

I have been meaning to see the movie, but I take a multi perspective view of the whole thing as well.
This page elaborates on some of the traditional thinking somewhat.

Well the scientist show that some of global warming happens naturally, but how can one argue effectively that in the 175 years of mankind's mass burning of fossil fuels, and expending of aerosol floral carbons hasn't accelerated the process is delusional at best.

I corrected your link in my browser window and opened the document. The very first thing I recognized is the name of the Competitive Enterprise Institute.
This is a supposed think tank that takes 40% of its funding directly from corporations. They oppose every kind of regulation known to man, becuase their main interest is in increasing profits for their constituents.
Now tell me, what is Al Gore's conflict of interest? He has none.

I might take your link more seriously if they author had bothered to list citations to support his evidence. All it is a list of bullet points. And I won't even mention the authors use of contractions. All in all, It is a very unprofessional paper.
