I just installed a new Soundblaster X-Fi audio card and I'm now getting a code 12 resource error on the video card, which is a Nvidia 6600. My motherboard is a ga81sxt made by Gigabyte for Fujitsu Siemens. The computer is a Scaleo 600. I've gone to the website and there doesn't seem to be a BIOS update. I have 2 gb of RAM, if that helps.

two devices are sharin same irq or memory range irq easy memory a little harder to fix ...follow below

Code 12
This device cannot find any free resources to use. (Code 12)

If you want to use this device, you must disable another device that is using the resources this device needs. To do this, click Hardware Troubleshooter and follow the instructions in the wizard.

where is a resource type (IRQ, DMA, Memory, or I/O).

Solution button: Hardware Troubleshooter

This code means that one of the resource arbitrators failed. This can occur if the device is software configurable and it does not currently have a resource (if the system is out of resources). For example, all the interrupts are in use, or the device requests a resource that is currently in use by another device that will not release the resource.

To resolve this problem, follow the instructions in the Hardware Troubleshooter. In addition, see the "Troubleshooting Conflicting Hardware" topic in Windows 95 Help, or see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

It's possible your cards are sharing an IRQ slot, not all devices support this. You may want to try installing it in another PCI slot (if one is available). You should also search the support site of your cards mfgr, this may be a known issue and there may be a workaround posted. Also check to see if you have anything disabled in Device Manager. It doesn't sound like a driver issue but you may want to check the vendors website for updated drivers for your card. Accessing the device in Device Manager and running the Troubleshooter in the device properties may also provide a clue
