Create a press kit which includes Bios, Demos, and Pictures. Then create flyers as many as you can afford and put them up everywhere. Try to book as many shows as possible. The band needs to play as many venues as possible and then once you've done that play them again. Get some songs recorded and copyrited and send them to as many record lables as possble. The secret to promotion is grinding. You have to work hard and then ever harder. Also take advantage of Myspace and Youtube and any other online community.Your goal is to generate a buzz around you band so you need people to hear you music, then you need them to come see you, then you need them to buy your music.

These days it’s both easier and harder to promote a band. It’s easier because there are so many places to promote a band. It’s harder because…there are so many places to promote a band. You need to know where to direct your energy. If you’re not careful you could spend all your time promoting and no time writing songs.
