There is no cause of death yet that is official-and it will take a bit for an autopsy. She was a celeb. She was a very pretty woman who had a turbulent life that would rival a movie. The whole situation is so sad. I feel bad for her young child. This will spin into all kinds of things and no one will ever really know what occured. She had so much sadness in her life-I am sorry that her story ended this way. I hope her daughter is able to grow up with a normal life.

(CNN) -- Reality TV star and former model Anna Nicole Smith was pronounced dead Thursday after being taken to a Florida hospital, a law enforcement source told CNN.

Smith, 39, collapsed at a south Florida hotel, according to news reports.

"I can confirm that she is deceased. It's as shocking to me as to you guys," Smith's attorney, Ronald Rale, told Reuters. "I don't know anything further. [Her lawyer and husband] Howard [K. Stern], obviously, is speechless and grieving."

TMZ.com had reported that Smith collapsed at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, and was rushed to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood just after 2 p.m. ET.

According to reports, Smith was found unresponsive in her hotel room.

Smith was involved in a paternity suit regarding the parentage of her daughter, Danielynn, as well as other disputes, including some regarding a house she stayed at in the Bahamas around the time she gave birth.

Earlier this week, Smith was included in a class-action lawsuit against a company, TrimSpa, for which she had worked as a spokesperson. TrimSpa makes a product it claims leads to substantial weight loss. The lawsuit alleges the marketing of the product, TrimSpa X32, was false or misleading.

Smith's son, Daniel Wayne Smith, died at age 20 just days after the birth of Smith's daughter. Pathologist Cyril Wecht said a lethal dose of methadone and antidepressants caused cardiac dysrhythmia, leading to his death.

i am truly shocked! there is small consolation that she may be with her son now, she mourned him so deeply. i understand society's impulse to attack, but i believe that we should forgive all misdeeds of life in death. she just has not been "herself" since daniel died. she always had a media strength and exuberance that shined through everything. it seemed that something significant within her died with him. i hope she is at peace. my deepest sympathies go out to mr. stern and danilynn. it was clear through the recent interviews that he cared deeply for her with all of his efforts (however futile) to protect her in the recent media blitz over her children and personal tragedies.

Yeah, she died because of overdose, i think it was an overdose of stupidity.

This is the one person who will die this year who no one should even talk about, but it's already become some big story.

What has she done, ever...to deserve any kind of attention, dead or alive?

It sucks she dies, i don't wish that on anyone, but who really cares?

She died today. It's very late breaking news. She collapsed in a hotel, and they have not done an autopsy yet, so there's no official cause of death yet.
