people are more greedy today than in our day?

Yes indeed im an OAP and when i grew up you could go on holiday for 2 weeks and leave your front door wide open and when you returned nothing would be stolen.......Then again we didn't have feck all worth thieving... Ahhh the good old days....

Agree ppl are greedy. Don't have a reference for "our day" ... but yeah, greed seems to be dominant.

Wait I smell a change a 'coming --- there is hope in the upper class. We're seeing generous donations and philanthropies, high profile adoptions, and general generosity trickling down.

The Tsunami showed that we the ppl didn't ask for the Government to help --- but rather each American Citizen pitched into donations ---- Former Presidents Bush (Sr) & Clinton joined to get charity from corporations (world wide). Victims of the Tsunami worked together and are getting back on their feet.

So < Sniff - Sniff > Change is coming ... smile and join this change.

I seriously doubt that people today are any more or less greedy than people of any other generation. There were the robber barons of the 19th century, ... the conquistadors from Spain, ... ancient societies raped and plundered one another regularly. There will always be a minority who are never satisfied. The more they make, the more they want, ...

We are a lot more materialistic i think. Money is too available today in the form of credit cards, loans, hp etc.. I think we are conditioned to believe that cars, big tvs etc are going to enhance our lives more than they do. We seem to need to prove how successful we are to everyone with all the latest gadgets.

There has always been an over-abundance of greedy people. And there have always been people who aren't greedy.
