Dont worry, my daughter HATED being on her stomach until about 9 months old. She started out by rolling everywhere, then jumped quickly to crawling and even more quickly to walking. In every other way, her development has been normal, and often excelled. Dont rush, and start baby-proofing. Soon, you will be saying "no" all to often, and wishing for the days when baby wasnt mobile yet, lol. This website will give you developmental milestones for your sons age: http://www.medem.com/MedLB/article_detaillb.cfm?article_ID=ZZZILN5IQDC&sub_cat=105
God bless! Remember to talk to your pediatrician if you are ever concerned.

This is to funny I have a 7 month old son and he isn't crawling yet. I know all to well about the not holding himself up.
I will say this, that every baby is so different in their development that it can vary with every baby.
My daughter was 7 1/2 months when she crawled. So I am hoping that maybe he will be starting soon.
Good Luck from this point on it is so much fun.

Many babies never crawl, it is not a developmental milestone.
My baby didn't crawl (except maybe a few inches on the bed) until he learned to pull himself up to standing. Then he could see all the wonderful things he could get his hands on and BOOM the next day he crawled. The next week he walked independantly. Now he crawls and walks everywhere and there is no holding him back! Oh this was all at 9 months.

My son went from scooting to crawling in about a 1.5 week period and started all of that around 8 months. He then went straight to walking by 9.5 months. He absolutely hated being on his stomach before he started crawling also. If you just show him (which sounds funny, I know), and also pick him up and run him through the motions that may help him learn it easier.

Don't worry about it . He will crawl when he is ready and you will definitely know about it . All these stories that they should crawl at such and such time and walk at such and such time are rubbish...
All babies are different and develop at different pace . Do not try to keep him on his hands , they might not be Strong enough yet .
He will do it himself when the right time comes .
Good luck .

he will learn to crawl when he's ready just keep giving him plenty of tummy time. he'll figure it out. there's no need to rush.
it seems like not that long ago my daughter was crawling but now she's walking all the time and doesn't need me to hold her hand to help.

my son just made 8 months yesterday, he started to do inch worm moves and push ups at 6 months and crawled a week later, we would just get on our hands a feet with him and put his favorite toy or somthing intresting in a distance so he would go get it, it works, but you also need to remember all babies are different and they'll do things when there ready to.

Don't worry , he'll figure it out... 7 months is a bit early still. When he does figure it out, he'll probably go backwards before he goes forward.
Consider yourself lucky!!! Enjoy not having to chase after them.... the word "No" comes along with crawling.
