How you will describe blue is how you will describe any other colour. You will first have to have a "Colour template" and that is where you put the work in. Most people associate a colour with a sound and this is an old Chinese way of describing colours so it would be useful if you brush up on the basics first.

A mood might enable color i know music being the art it is often brings color into my life. There is a show that i am not sure is on anymore but i believe was aired on TLC that was about a Blind Designer. I believe while teaching some of his clients about the art while blindfolding them, he played music in one of the clips and they had to pick colors based on what they heard. Perhaps playing the Blues? ; )

Get them to hold an ice cube. Never seen the film "Mask" with Cher and Eric Stoltz? You should. It will give you clues to other colours - cotton wool to describe clouds, hot wholemeal toast to describe brown - you'll get your own ideas.
