Millions, if not billions of dollars were pumped into this neo-lib social experiment. George Soros must be sorely disappointed. Liberals opinions just don't translate to ratings I guess.

Hans, Exactly, thats the point. Liberals have commandeered what is supposed to be an unbiased radio station paid for with tax dollars. I'm really shocked that you would admit to this misappropriation of tax dollars to promote partisan politics and pervert the entire station by only presenting liberal ideas.

Louis G, NPR was never meant to be a mouthpiece for liberal propaganda. My tax dollars pay for that travesty of a station and I resent the one sided points of view it presents. It just shows that liberals can't compete in the open marketplace of ideas.

The problem is with liberalism itself. For the most part, it is built on major negativity. If you list some of the beliefs libs espouse, one might wonder why anyone would want to listen to a radio show spreading such beliefs:

-- the world's environment is polluted and YOU are to blame;

-- people consume too much and the world has too many people;

-- we will someday lack in food and water to keep all those people alive;

-- America is a racist country and special programs are required to assist minorities;

-- the "rich get richer and the poor get poorer"

-- President Bush is bad, evil, dumb, illiterate, a failure;etc.

-- war is bad, Iraq was a lie, no WMDs were found, etc.

These are just the ones I can recall right now. Not one drop of hope in that list. Who would voluntarily listen to THAT?

nice try major if that is the reasoning of the left then why did they try in the first place? Liberism is simply not a sound idiology to use as a basis for running a country. It is for ruining one though. And most people with common sense know this. They rely on lieing and bashing to gain power because they have no positive ideas for the country. Making everyone equal is their goal and they think that is a noble cause. No more poor no more rich (except them). And to make this happen they will again try taxing us into prosperity. They will never understand that taxing a country into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket trying to lift himself up by the handle. It's impossible. Besides I tried listening a couple times and they are just so boring and that voice of Robert Kennedy jr is like listening to fingernails dragging across a chalk board. .

I think there were two reasons it was such a failure.

First Extremist Liberal Democrats can't make a coherent argument for their positions, most of their logic is based on how they feel about things and does not stand up to rigorous examination, let alone discussion.

Secondly, why listen to the doom and gloom on the radio when you already have at least 4 major TV news networks all saying the same thing all the time?

I think they preferred to get pictures with their brain washing.

Because liberals already have a station. It's called NPR, and they can get real facts and news from NPR. They do not want or need pundits feeding them semi-facts and half truths to validate uninformed decisions like the religous right does.

Maybe it's really the Dittoheads who have no jobs and liberals are working during the day or work in jobs where they can't listen to the radio while they work because they have to use their brains in their jobs.

1) Liberals were convinced that there was a huge market for their rants.
2) There virtually no market for their rants.

Because they can't put forth a good argument about their positions and they can't defend them.
Liberals like to just make statements about what you should do and how you should live and then not have to take any questions to defend those positions.
If you question them then you are just a hater.

Liberals already have NPR, we don't want to risk losing it by tuning into something else.

That's weird. I have it on right now and it seems to be just fine...And don't forget the Jones Radio Network. That one is up and jumping as well.
