i am truly shocked! there is small consolation that she may be with her son now, she mourned him so deeply. i understand society's impulse to attack, but i believe that we should forgive all misdeeds of life in death. she just has not been "herself" since daniel died. she always had a media strength and exuberance that shined through everything. it seemed that something significant within her died with him. i hope she is at peace. my deepest sympathies go out to mr. stern and danilynn. it was clear through the recent interviews that he cared deeply for her with all of his efforts (however futile) to protect her in the recent media blitz over her children and personal tragedies.

Former Playmate Smith dies at 39
The flamboyant former model Anna Nicole Smith has died near Miami, Florida at the age of 39, her lawyer has said.
Smith, a former Playboy bunny, married Texas oil billionaire J Howard Marshall II in 1995 when she was 26 and he was 89. He died a year later.
She spent years in court fighting his son for a share of his estate, and won a victory at the Supreme Court in 2006.
She was found unconscious in a hotel room and could not be resuscitated. No cause of death has been announced

Officials at the Seminole Hard Rock Cafe Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, say she was unresponsive when she was taken from there to the hospital.
A spokeswoman for the hotel says she checked in on Monday, and was supposed to check out tomorrow.
Witness reports are that CPR was in progress at the time. Smith was reportedly accompanied by her companion, Howard K. Stern and a bodyguard at the time.
Anna Nicole has been in the news for much of the past year, as she's involved in paternity battle over her baby girl born in September. Her 20-year-old son Daniel died in the hospital just three days after the baby's birth.
Most people first noticed Smith when she married Texas billionaire J. Howard Marshall. He was 86 years old and she was only 26.
Soon after, Smith was everywhere. And after Marshall died in 1995, her reputation as America's most famous alleged gold digger seemed secure. A California court awarded her $450 million from her late husband's estate, but Marshall's son Brian appealed in Texas and won. I think her heart was filled with so much grief that when other stresses happened in her life, She could not take it anymore. :-(

"HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - Anna Nicole Smith, the former Playboy playmate whose bizarre life careened from marrying an octogenarian billionaire to the untimely death of her son, died Thursday after collapsing at a South Florida hotel, one of her lawyers said.
Smith, 39, collapsed and was unresponsive while staying at the Seminole Hard Rock Cafe Hotel and Casino, said the attorney, Ron Rale. She was rushed to a hospital."

that is so sad when anyone dies so young and more than lightly unnessasary.
I would imagine her yo yo dieting/drug taking/family problems have made her so unhappy let her be in peace now and think of her baby daughter.
