Let's see if this helps you... Passive voice combines a form of the verb "to be" ("was," in your sample) and the past tense of the action verb of the sentence, but it also changes the subject of the sentence. Here's an example, using a compound sentence to make it (I hope) clearer:

Passive: "The car was found by police after it had been abandoned by thieves." The subject of both parts of this sentence -- found by the police, abandoned by the thieves -- is the car.

Active: "Police found the car after thieves abandoned it." In this case, there are TWO subjects, one for each part of the sentence -- police found the car, thieves abandoned it (the car).

The trick is that in my example, I told you who did the finding (police) and who did the abandoning (thieves). In your example, the sentence doesn't tell you who did the inviting.

So you'll have to make up something, or somebody, to be the subject of your new, active-voice sentence. The best way to do that is to answer this question:

Who invited Nancy to a party this Saturday night at 8:00?
