One guy in my school class asked me if I was "high" as a joke. I said "no". Then he asked me if I was "low". I don't know if that's the opposite to being "high" (on drugs,etc.), or just him being funny, so I said "I don't know". Then he said "How could you NOT know if you are 'low'?"! I'm very confused!!

Its random non-sense- prolly to start a conversation...

A "terd" is a small piece of feces.

Low could be the opposite of high.

Salamike2 has the right idea. He sounds like a terd.
Maybe the terd was asking if you were depressed.

He was teasing you. He could say low is anything. He could say it means "low class, low down & dirty,..." The possibilties could go on. Next time it might be better to not answer his question.

I think the word "low" is used to express feelings of grief/frustration/fatigue more than it is used to express one's sobriety...
