What do you think of a ten year old wearing thongs???

I have a little cousin who is ten years old and she is already wearing thongs, I personally think its not okay, but her mom seems to be okay with it.

It isn't about the kid. Its about the mother. The mother is the one who can buy the kids' clothing, and the mother is the one who can "lose" anything anyone gives her kid that isn't appropriate.

The world isn't going to end if some little kid wears a thong, but that mother is going to be sorry in two or three years and her kid is looking for more and more "grown-up" things to be doing.

I think it is up to mothers to define what each age of childhood means, to tell kids some things are for older girls, and to help the child understand what ten-year-olds ought to be doing and not doing. It helps a kid know what's appropriate for her age in spite of her natural wish to do grown-up things, and it helps kids have "freedoms" to look forward to and later enjoy. When parents let the child's wish to do grown-up things run the show or when they push a child out of childhood because they think its "cute" for a ten-year-old to have a little thong it isn't good for the kid.

There's also something to be said for encouraging a little girl to be pretty but not trashy or not to be too interested in her own underwear at ten years old.

it is wrong and a 10 year old should not be wearing a thong but you are not her mom so you cant tell her not to wear thongs, i know it sucks but you will just have to live with it

EEEEEEWWWWW! Gross. that's way too young to be wearing a thong. When i was younger i didn't see people wearing thongs until they were at least 13. But 10...that's way too inappropriate. I'd have to agree with you on that one.

i don't think that a 10 year old should be wearing thongs. usually girls wear thongs with tight pants to show off their butts. at 10 years old, she is too young to be trying to show off anything. even if she doesn't ware tight pants, eventually it will lead to this, and then short shorts and then revealing shirts and then she is eventually going to find a guy that she likes and he is going to try to take advantage of her. she needs to wait until she is 17-18 before she does these kinds of things. if my kid were to try to do this i would be telling them to get their butt back in their room and cover themselves up and that it better not happen again. hope this helps. good luck.

I think the 10-year old needs a mom and that is pretty close to sexual abuse. !0-year old are not sexual beings and thongs are for making men get hard-ons.

Get the stupidity of the person that is suppose to be responsible for that childs well being.
