does fake tan work on pale skin? I've got really pale skin and my sister has red hair and doesn't tan naturally. Will fake tan work on either of us? Has anyone got really pale skin who uses fake tan? I know that sounds really stupid cos its designed for people without a tan!!

NOO!!! If you have fair skin, the worse thing you could do is use fake tan stuff. You should you the healthy glow stuff by aveno. It makes it tanner but you don't end up looking like a pumpkin.

Hi Jessica, I have pale skin too, and to add to it, I'm a natural blonde! I find it very hard to tan, so I tend to stay out in the sun for about 1-2 hours, I don't tan amazingly but I get a bit more of a brownish colour. I use spf 15, because I live in UK, the solstace of the sun isn't as hot as it is in other countries, and guessing by the way you spell mum, you live in USA so I'd suggest you use spf 20-30. Also, if you spend a bit of time in shade after you've been in the sun, you tan quite good also. I don't use fake tan, but there is a protection sun spray with a tanning inducer in it, the best thing is, it's not fake tan. I can't remember what it's called though sorry. Anyway good luck with your tanning, hope you get browned soon!

I am Scottish and have light hair and pale skin and whenever i have used fake tan it really does look fake. You could try your local beauty salon and ask the beautician her opinion ? I did try a really good one once though but its a bit pricey so gave up buying it. Its called St Tropez and comes in a coloured mousse so you can see where your applying it. Good luck !!!

I would recommend using jergens natural glow. The stuff works really good. i wouldnt tan in a tanning bed though. It'll ruin ur skin in the feauture.

really i dont know. i have natural tan skin but i think you should stick with pale skin. i have some friends with red or brown hair and pale skin and they look fine...even though theyre jealous of me. lol.

I have reallllly pale skin and I love it. Fake tans look orange. I wouldn't get one if I were you.

Don't do it. People will know it's a fake tan and won't think you look nice.
