We don't live together so I can't surprise him when he gets home or anything like that...We already have plans to go out to eat at a nice place, but that's about it, and I don't think he has anything planned after that. I was kinda wanting to do something romantic for him instead. Any ideas? Oh and we both live w/other people so we really can't go crazy w/the bedroom games, just b/c of the close proximity of our roommates! I need some new ideas! please help!

8 years! whew
start with maybe something that will remind him of all the good times that you all have had for the last 8 years.

Go do something big together. Go skydive, bungee, cruise, ski, vacation plan something even.

If you want to think smaller try a cd with 16 songs 2 songs for each year you have been together. Play games guessing what's on each other's cd or make the cds with what you think is the other person's favorite songs from each year and see if you get it right. Try games similar to that. Make it like the newlywed game which it is since you two are seeing how well you know each other after being together so long.

8 years already? That's just as boring as a married coupled. Forget sexy lingeries or lying in bed with lit candles waiting for him. Sex won't help because he knows your body all too well. Who needs surprise! Does he like surprises? After all, this is not a birthday thing. Valentine's Day has become rather dreadful. It gives people more headache and even heartache than the chances to celebrate their togetherness. People just get upset if their partners don't celebrate the day enough or don't do it their way. They get into fight. What a great way to celebrate love and happiness!

I gave my husband a message in a bottle you can purchase online and have it delivered to him. I wrote my own poem and they put it all together and shipped it to me and I gave it to him. It is still on our mantel.
