Here was one of the best goalkeepers of all time, and yet his entire career is forgotten by most--simply because of THAT one bad goal!
Plus, I remember the press picking on him because he had long hair. Oh. BIG DEAL. There are NO other footballers with long hair, right? Ahem.

A great goalie, he was--a stellar, steady career. Just a shame no one seems to remember that.

I don't believe he was 1 of the best goalkeepers we ever had. He was the best we ever had. The stupid English public and media take football too seriously and are always looking for scape goats to pick out of the crowd and humiliate because they don't know any better. He had a great career for club and country, I hope Arsenal fans don't forget that and he had his "gallery of horrors" but all goalkeepers have that. He wouldn't be normal if he didn't. He just happened to have only 3 goals to forget. Many would have more. It's a shame he didn't play 30 years before because it would've been great for him to lift up the world cup. It bemuses me that people turned on him because he conceded a goal from Ronaldinho, argueably the best player in the world. We should all thank him for what he's done and actually write an official song about him and sing everytime England play, just to remember him.

It's not that people don't remember him, I don't know of one person who when i say the name "David seamen" doesn't know who i referring too. The long hair thing was more off an affectionate joke more then anything else.

Also its too early for people to remember him as a great because the memories our still fresh. In twenty years time people will still be talking about him fondly. However he's hardly one of the greatest off all time.

Good keeper a stalwart between the posts for england.

He was a good player, and should be remembered for the glory years. but the end of his career was bad with a lot of poor performances for england as well as the way he ritired, he was only looking for a signing on fee from city then virtually retired overnight - when to be honest i don't really believe he had a fitness problem

He was a top player and a real gentleman.

One of the all time greatest Arsenal Players.

I'm Scottish and I don't care what anybody thinks.

Seaman always made my dream team because he was the best goalie in the world at his peak. Simple as that.

David safe hands Seaman was quality. Some people didn't like him but he was the best goalkeeper England had by far at the time.

Spunky will never be forgotten by me - an amazing keeper! He always said "you could make 6 decent saves and 1 poor one in a match, but they will always remember you for the poor one".
