There shouldn't be any reason why you can't go bowling while pregnant...especially if you're healthy and are not having any complications....but it'll be good to check with your Dr anyway.
Even if your DR says you can't bowl there's no reason why you can't still take your son bowling! Make it a family night and you could become the official "score keeper" or something like that so that you don't physically strain yourself but your son gets to keep his weekly bowling date with mom :)

In my opinion it can be risky -as well as other sports- for pregnants no matter how many weeks. Proven-to-be-harmless activities like swimming and walking or a mild exercise program (given by your doctor) can be chosen instead. If i were you, i would immediately put an end to bowling and wait for doc appt. Wishing you good luck and all the best with your baby...

Yes...I was on a bowling league with my first and doctor said it was ok. You should be able to use the same LB as when you were not pregnant, but if that seems awkward or you're afraid of pulling something, go down a lb or two.
I used 12 lbs before pregnant, but pulled a stomach muscle...not uterine so there was no issue with the pregnancy, so I went down to a 10 lb.

You should be fine for now but as you get further along in your pregnancy it might get physically harder to bowl. Most doctors now will encourage physical activity during pregnancy as long as your not running marathons or lifting weights.
It's up to you how long into your pregnancy you bowl, it all depends on how you feel. But definently talk to your doctor, I'm sure he'll be able to tell you what exercises are safe and such. But bowling isn't really hard core exercise, so I'm sure you'll be fine.

Now it maybe ok since your not that far or big but you probably should use the lighter ball. I definitely wouldn't try it because i pulled a muscle in my pelvis area when i was carrying my son last year and all i did was pick up a basket of laundry. But whatever you do be safe and remember your not superwoman and you can't do everything while pregnant

I went bowling up until the day before I delivered my first child. My protocol was always to discontinue an activity if I was feeling any cramping or was uncomfortable. As long as you aren't having any high risk signs such as breakthrough bleeding, consistent cramping, or bad lower back pain, and your other pregnancy wasn't considered high risk then you should be okay.

I bowl on a league and when I asked my midwife, she wais that as long as it was something I had been doing already, I was fine! In fact, she said I didnt have to stop until I felt uncomfortable with my balance or such! Bowl on!

Yes, it's fine all the way through your pregnancy - unless advised against by your doc because of some complication.

I never bowled when I was pregnant. I just figured it was not worth it. You can surely find a different activity for you to do with your 4 year old once a week.
