If it were me, I would take a Cadillac over a Kia without even thinking about it. Not only do you have more power and luxury, but the safety of a large car like a Cadillac is unrivaled. I was unfortunate to come across an accident recently where two cars collided at an intersection. One was a ten year old Cadillac, and the other was a Honda Civic. Both occupants in the Civic were killed, and the Cadillac driver walked away. Everybody was wearing seat belts and the Cadillac broadsided the Honda, but I was still amazed by the amount of damage a side impact had on a small car.

If you want a piece of crap that you will continue to dump money into repairs on, go w/ the Kia. If you want a quality built vehicle (with one of the most reliable engines on the market), the Cadi. My personal preference would be the Seville.

Stick with the Kia, don't buy something as old as a 97 Cady, save up for something newer.

Keep the Kia- wayyy better on gas mileage, and hopefully with less miles on it. You know the service record of your current vehicle, better to keep what problems you know you have than to possibly buy into a set of worse problems. I'm sorry but by 10 years of age, you KNOW something is bound to go wrong with a car...
