Anyone stayed recently?? Looking to stay there for a weekend (easier for parking) with my young daughter. Read a few dodgy reviews but they all seem dated.

Cheers :)

why stay there? There is nothing wrong with it , just a little out of town. I recommend leaving your car at home , getting the train to here and using buses during your stay. The town centre is chaos at the moment (north st is down to 1 lane and is making driving a nightmare) . There are so many guest houses in the Kemp town area, along the seafront, i don't think you would have any problems finding a deal this time of year

Good luck!

What the others are saying is true - it is quite a long way from the seafront and the town centre.

But if you are going during the winter do you really want to go on the seafront?

Yes, the hotel is situated on a busy road. The A23 which is the road to London, but because it is in the north of the town it's easier to get out of twon into mid sussex, called the Weald.

The Weald has many picturesque villages to explore. The best being in the Wadhurst area.

Another way of looking at it is that when you're on holiday, what's the rush anyway? Ok, so it takes you 15 minutes to get to the sea and the town centre - so what?

Go for it - it's a nice place.

Hmm, I drive past it every day on my way to and from work. I know it has a good health spa (or at least my stepmum always said she liked to swim and use the gym) but I'm not sure I'd want to stay there. It is right on the A23 which has a constant stream of traffic all day and night. It may be true that it's easier for parking but you're not going to want to take your car into Brighton for the day anyway, and there is parking at other hotels and B&Bs.
I'd look elsewhere to be honest. There are some great hotels in Brighton. Paskins Townhouse for one. Or The Granville. Or loads of B&Bs.

Can't tell you much but it's situated along a main road that allways get congested, especially at the weekends. Makes it a frustrating trip into the city centre & also seafront.

I would suggest somewhere in the kemp town area (area inbetween the palice pier and marina) lots of B&B's in that area and all situated just off the cost road. Very reasonably priced as well and parking's a bit less hectic (though still not great!)

Enjoy your stay!

Personally I would look at one of the many very good B&B's in Regency square, a couple of good ones are

The Regency Hotel - http://www.regencybrighton.co.uk/
and
The Adelaide - http://www.adelaidehotel.co.uk/

the reason I say this is because the Preston Park Hotel is actually miles away from the town centre and seafront!

The hotel itself isn't great - a bit tacky and '70s. Lot's of plastic. I used to live in the area, though, and it's lovely. Make sure to visit the park. You can also catch the 5, 5A or 5B from nearby straight into town.
