One with two separate compressors, (and thermostats)
Reason - If there is only a single compressor and the thermostat is in the fridge compartment and set at +5°C, when the weather (ambient) is cold (under +5°C) the thermostat will shut off the unit which will also stop the freezer section from reaching -19°C. The freezer section will then rise to ambient, possibly +2°C ?? and all your frozen food will defrost. The fridge temperature will still be ok at +2°C

if the temp.in the garage drops below about 37 degrees the compressor wont kick on. the temp.in the freezer could rise to 36 degrees ;then refreeze when the garage warms up. best not to keep food in freezer.

any fridge will work fine. my parents have a fridge/freezer and a full size freezer in the garage. nothing is going to happen, there is nothing in the mechanics of a freezer that will be damaged by the cold air.

Makes no difference any will do. I have the same in the house as in the garage and both are fine. One in garage uses less electricity because it is in the cold.

not sure. a relative was refused a sale of a freezer by a major u.k. supplier because he told them it was to be placed in a cold garage.
apparently, most freezers are designed to be used in a warmer environment!
how bizarre is that?

Garage heating or lack of makes no difference to whatever F/F you have, because they have their own insulation
