The guy I am seeing ex girlfreind is now pregnant and its been about a month sence they have been broken up. Now it's really going to mess his life up and hers also, and I am not making any excuses for them but its a long story. I was just wondering what would be the best way for her to terminate the pregancy but by not having an abortion because she can't go through with that but is their a pill or something I now they got one in the states but not in Canada, we need something that is avaiably in Canada. Thanks

The pill i was talking about that is only in the states and not in Canada is the Non-surgical / medical abortion or abortion by pill is a relatively new method of termination of pregnancy for early pregnancies (below 7-9 weeks of pregnancy from the first day of the last menstrual period, confirmed by ultrasound dating) and is called the RU-486

If she's 100% sure she's pregnant, then it's too late for the morning-after pill. The only way to TERMINATE is to have an abortion. But there is also adoption. And there's always the possibility of keeping THEIR child. If a child was going to mess their lives up so bad, then they shouldn't have been having sex in the first place. And you don't have any say in THEIR pregnancy. So back up and give them a chance to think about what to do.

"Chemical abortion is available in Canada on a limited basis using methotrexate and misoprostol..."
http://www.answers.com/topic/abortion-in-canada
This:
http://ppfc.ca/ppfc/find.asp
might be a good place to start to find a clinic that dispenses what you figure she's looking for, which is this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abortifacient
The chemical option is not magically safer or easier. I tried it -- apropos of a 'missed miscarriage' -- and it didn't work; I ended up needing a D&C. And very much wished I'd gone with the surgery in the first place; it took no time at all, and recovery was very quick. The pills were a lot of cramping. I'm not convinced that they're a safer option, too. Make sure your friend is well-informed (and not from a pile of anti-choice nutters).
Edited to add: yes, you can have an abortion after 12 weeks. Not a great idea, but.

If she is over 12 weeks along then she cannot get an abortion in Canada. On the 12th week of gastastion the child is considered a fetus, thus a person. If she does not wish to have an abortion, it is her choice not yours or your boyfriend. She can however go through with the pregnancy and give the child up for adoption. But as I stress before, it is her choice, not yours!
Even if there is some sort of pill in the United States, if it is not apporved or legal in Canada there is nothing you can do about it.
So stop stressin' over it, cause it's not your problem.
You look like you want to abort it more than she does because your afraid she'll steal all your sunshine, and the baby will get more attention than you can stand, so your trying to get rid of the baby.
Your being very selfish whether you realize it or not.

Yep it will mess up their lives-but here is the key "their" lives. It's been a month since you have been seeing him and you know he was having unprotected sex recently. She doesn't want to have an abortion. Are you looking for something that could be given on the sly so she wouldn't know about it? That is how it comes across in your post. If she wants to end a pregnancy that is her choice and she can post to ask about it or better yet see a doctor. You really should stay out of it and think about whether you want to see this man anyway.
--Sorry by "mess up" I mean that this is what can happen when you have sex-if you aren't ready to face up to this then don't have sex-cause trust me a baby is a huge change in your life.

The pill you are speaking of is the morning after pill I think...and if that is it, it is only good for 72 hours after sex. If it has been a month since they were together, she is at least 4 weeks, probably more if she already knows. In that case, any termination of the pregnancy would be an abortion. Even if there were a pill she could take, she would still have the effects of the abortion.

There is no way to terminate a pregnance with out an abortion...there is a morning after pill she could have tried, but it's too late after 72 hours after sex. She should consider adoption, since abortion isn't a choice for them.

It's their responsibility now. If she can't go through with an abortion, why would she even consider killing it in an alternative way... isn't it all the same ultimatum. Anyway, I think this is between him and her, and it's something they need to work out. By the way, there is only the morning after pill, there is nothing available to kill the baby except abortion at this point.

You're not thinking of slipping her a pill when she's not looking are you? Might as well just hold her down and inject some saline into her uterus.
Walk away from the situation or at least let his ex- girlfriend make her own choice that she needs to make for her own body.

Medical Abortion- A medical abortion is another safe and effective method for early abortion. Generally, medical abortion is used only in the first 7-9 weeks of pregnancy. A medical abortion uses two medications to end a pregnancy. The first (either mifepristone or methotrexate) weakens the attachment of the pregnancy to the uterus. The second (misoprostol) makes the uterus cramp and causes bleeding, which expels the pregnancy.
Its very different from the surgical abortion.

http://www.AbortionPill.org provides information on the Abortion Pill and related topics. The Abortion Pill, otherwise known as Mifeprex, or mifepristone initiates a form of medical abortion. Using the Abortion Pill for early pregnancy termination may be an option for those who do not wish to have a surgical abortion.
