I am 22 weeks pregnant with my second child and dreading another long labor. When I had my son 7 years ago I had to be induced at 41 weeks, I was in labor for 24 hours and pushed for 2 hours. I have heard the second baby comes a lot easier. Will I have to be induced again or will happen natural? And will she come out faster than my son did? Also will my second baby weight more than my first did?

I'm also pregnant w/ #2 (24 weeks). I've been wondering the same thing. I was induced at 40 weeks and my labor and delivery was only 4 1/2 hours. I worry about this labor being to quick and potentially harming my baby. Rapid labor can be dangerous. I have found it is not always the case. My boyfriend's sister has had 2 kids, and her 2nd one was longer than the first by 12 hours. She was not induced though either time. I wish you luck though, I hope yours goes faster.

depends - my second child was my hardest. I was in labor for 14 hours and that was with being induced and he was bigger, so I pushed for so long that my Dr. gave me a time limit before a C section - which I didn't have to have.
It depends on the baby. Also with my second I tore from one end to the other.
Not trying to scare you, but it just depends and you won't know until you get there and do it.
My first was 7lbs 11oz. and my second was 8 lbs. 12oz. A pound makes a big difference in baby size.
The good news is with my third, the Dr. didn't want me to have another big baby and to go through that again, so she induced at 37 weeks and I had a smaller baby who was 6lbs 8 oz. Just think if he grew for the last three weeks how big he would have been. ( a pound a week at the end)
So, try not to worry and hope for the best. You will be fine. When it is all over you will have a wonderful baby in your arms and no matter what you went through, good or bad - it will be worth it.
Congrats.

My second baby was bigger and came only one hour quicker than the first. What was awful about that birth was that I had to push for 4 hours. He was kind of stuck. I don't know WHY they didn't just section me, but I DID get him out and have had 2 easy fast labors since then.

It all depends. I have two children myself and had to have a C-section with my daughter and then a second with my son (what they call a repeat-cesarean) and the second one was a lot easier, however I didn't actually labor the second time. My son was a whole pound heavier than my daughter. He's also a lot more laid back and better behaved!

My first was a boy and I was in labor for 22 hours and pushed for half an hour and he weighed 8lbs 1.6oz and my second child was a girl and was only in labor for 6 hours and pushed for 10 minutes and she weighed 8lbs exactly but I think it all depends!

Our first baby's labor was difficult. It went for about 9 hours with 2 hours of pushing that didn't get her out. They then pulled her out with forceps and she was in distress. 3 1/2 years later we had our second baby and she just popped out after a few pushes. The doctor actually told my wife to hold up because the 2nd one was almost out and he wasn't ready to catch her yet.

faster...sometimes. Easier? No! It seemed with me, that the faster the labor went, the worse it hurt. I never had time to slowly ease into the different stages of labor....it just came on hard and hit me like a brick wall.

It did with my ex wife. Her first took 14 hours but my son took only about 3 hours with hardly no pain just a lower back ache.

the first child is often late, the second will be easier, i have 5 , by far my first was the most painful and longest, he was also late, but my second and third were shorter, less painful and on time, good luck, no worries
